Travelling around gets you in unexpected places. One of those is Santa Barbara Wine Collective. Not knowing much about Santa Barbara county wines, it turned out to be a great and quick lesson to get up to speed on this region.
While walking around Santa Barbara, I stumbled upon a nice warehouse space (originally housing the historic Santa Barbara Fish Market there from the 1920’s and was a local landmark), which read ‘winery’ and ‘tasting’. My eyes wondered, and so I decided to have a quick peak inside.

The Santa Barbara Wine Collective is a group of the following five producers:
- Babcock – Bryan Babcock
- Ca’Del Grevino – David Addamo
- Fess Parker – Blair Fox
- Notary Public – Ernst Storm
- The Paring – Matt Dees
SB Wine collective prides itself as “being the county’s first and only communal tasting room that represents five wineries and winemakers under one roof”.
With each winery showcasing their own varietals, they are all working on producing wines that represent the unique terroir of Santa Barbara County.
It’s definitely worth a visit, if only for the ambiance of the historical warehouse it’s located in.
