Maybe not a wine you might quickly pick in the winestore, Zweigelt is a red grape developed in 1922, by crossing the St. Laurent grape and Blaufränkisch grape, in Austria, by Fritz Zweigelt. Currently it is the most widely grown red grape in Austria.
This Zweigelt is a very fresh and pure wine, and is full of ripe dark fruits, elegant tannins. This is a guaranteed crowd pleaser and the winemaker is definitely a ‘one to watch’.
